“Ah, now, don’t be too put off by this hunk o’ hardware. These gears have been tough gettin’ used to, but they do come in mighty handy from time to time.”
I will never get over the gloriousness that is Silver’s arm. The stunning, mesmerizing animation and design and versatility and disabled adaptation equipment being fucking amazing, disabled character being fucking amazing, disabled character being my favorite Disney movie character of all time. Thank you for John Silver.
I wasn’t asked to a single dance in high school and didn’t have a serious romantic relationship until I was 22. And like, yeah that shit hurt when I was younger. I had a lot of fears that I was unlovable and that I didn’t deserve to be happy. And every time I would try to talk to anyone about it, the conversation became, “you’ll find someone”, when it should have been, “you don’t need a relationship or a date, you’re lovable & complete & beautiful on your own”.
So yeah, please normalize young people not dating, and please stop shaming them for it. There’s more to life than romance, despite what the media wants us to think.
THIS
Some of y’all need to read this shit and understand it fully
FIRST NAME: The first two letters of your first, middle, and last names
SURNAME: The last two letters of the same names
If you don’t have a middle name or that combination makes no sense, use the first three letters of your first/last name, etc. Don’t worry about overlap.
i can’t play a video game for the first time twice, so i feed on other people’s first playthrough reactions like some kind of video game feelings vampire
I’ve seen a lot of videos going around of urban-dwelling critters coming to humans for help with various problems, ranging from boxes stuck on their heads to young trapped down a storm drain, and it’s gotten me to thinking:
On the one hand, it’s kind of fascinating that they know to do that.
On the other hand, setting any questions of how this sort of behaviour must have arisen aside for the nonce, does it ever strike you how weird it is that we’ve got a whole collection of prey species whose basic problem-solving script ends with the step “if all else fails, go bother one of the local apex predators and maybe they’ll fix the problem for no reason”?
Sometimes I think we must seem like the old notions of the Fair Folk to city-dwelling animals.
Like we’re unpredictable, shiny, we operate by strange and unknowable laws sometimes, we can and do hunt and hurt them just for funzies, but… that fickleness goes both ways, and it really is, like, when all else is lost, spin the wheel of Human Weirdness and see if it lands on ‘benevolent’ today. Go to the Court of the Fairy Queen and say your right words and maybe, instead of getting turned into an equal volume of spiders, everything will be saved.
